About Banning
The city is named after Phineas Banning, a famous stagecoach line owner. The then-town of Banning was once a major stagecoach stop between Arizona and Los Angeles, earning it the nickname Stagecoach Town, USA. Banning is a part of the Riverside-San Bernardino metropolitan area. This city is conveniently situated along Interstate 10 with Beaumont to its west, Cabazon to its east, and mountain ranges to its north and south. Banning is neatly tucked between the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley in the San Gorgoinio Pass. Stunning views of Mt. San Gorgonio and Mt. San Jacinto can be seen from the windows of one's home.
